Mission Statement

She Can Play Brass is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that celebrates, supports, and showcases women performing at the highest levels of brass artistry, while leveraging our success and visibility to inspire future generation of musicians. By creating opportunities to make music together, we build community and foster mutual support among professional women. We engage with our community by offering outstanding performances, to inspire, educate, and entertain. We believe that when emerging musicians see and hear outstanding role models, they can imagine new possibilities for themselves and the future musical community they aspire to build.

Cultural Equity Statement

She Can Play Brass celebrates the extraordinary artistry, creativity, and contributions of women and female-identifying brass players. Through outstanding performances and meaningful musical experiences, we celebrate the talent and artistry of professional women, while inspiring the next generation to pursue their passions, discover their potential, and shape the future of music. We believe that a vibrant musical community is one in which every musician is valued for their artistry, individuality, and contributions, and where all have opportunities to learn, perform, collaborate, and thrive.

We are equally committed to making outstanding live music accessible to diverse audiences. Through free or low cost performances, welcoming concert environments, and community engagement, we seek to share the joy of brass music as widely as possible.
